The International Corporate Accountability Roundtable (ICAR) and the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) are undertaking consultations with local experts and key stakeholders in various regions around the world to gain valuable inputs into the National Action Plans (NAPs) Project. The NAPs Project is developing a comprehensive Toolkit to support national development and evaluation of State-level measures to implement the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). Consultation participants’ inputs will feed into the final results of the Project, which will be released in June 2014.
On 25-27 November 2013, Global Rights is hosting an African Regional Civil Society Convening on Human Rights and Business in Accra, Ghana. As part of this convening, ICAR and DIHR are facilitating an African Civil Society Dialogue on the NAPs Project with key African civil society representatives. Furthermore, on 27-29 November 2013, members of the Network of African National Human Rights Institutions (NANHRI) are convening in Accra, Ghana for NANHRI's 9th Biennial Conference, which is centered on the theme of "Business and Human Rights: Challenges, Opportunities, and the Role of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs)."
