ICAR signs on to NGO letter calling for action on IUU fishing as part of the U.S. Ocean Climate Action Plan

On November 18, ICAR and 11 other environmental, labor, and human rights groups submitted a letter to the Biden Administration in response to a request for input to inform the development of a U.S. Ocean Climate Action Plan (OCAP). Our joint letter provides concrete recommendations on addressing illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing and forced labor in seafood supply chains and lays out why these efforts are needed to reduce the risks to fisheries as well as the workers and local communities that depend on them.
