Video Message from the Artists - Using Augmented Reality to Shine a Light on Corporate Capture

Through our Capitol, Inc. Campaign, ICAR brings together art and technology to unveil the invisible force of corporate influence in Washington D.C. and around the globe. The project currently features five augmented reality art installations intended to help raise awareness about how corporate influence in government undermines progressive change on a wide variety of important issues. Watch the videos below to hear from the inspiring artists behind two of these installations.

Las Manos de Mis Padres: A Look Behind the Scenes with Alfredo Salazar-Caro

Watch Capitol, Inc. Artist Alfredo Salazar-Caro talk about the inspiration behind his piece, which is a visual poem meant to honor and uplift the agricultural workers across the U.S. coming from the Latin diaspora. The piece illustrates how the prioritization of corporate profit in the agricultural industry sabotages progress on a host of social justice issues. His X Mark: A Look Behind the Scenes with Emma Robbins

Watch Diné Artist and Activist Emma Robbins talk about why she created her Capitol, Inc. Campaign augmented reality piece, which links the exploitation of Indigenous land and peoples to the violation of treaties and highlights how the government turns a blind eye to the corporations mining on Indigenous land undermining the sovereignty of Indigenous communities across America.
