Summary Report: CONSULTATION ON THE U.S. NATIONAL ACTION PLAN ON RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS CONDUCT

On September 24, 2014, President Obama announced plans to develop a U.S. National Action Plan (NAP) on responsible business conduct. As part of this process, the International Corporate Accountability Roundtable (ICAR) and the Global Business Initiative on Human Rights (GBI) were pleased to co-host the Washington, DC consultation on the U.S. NAP on April 16, 2015.

The consultation, hosted as part of the U.S. government’s series of open dialogues, was the largest consultation to date with over 200 participants from approximately 15 different government agencies, 40 businesses, 40 civil society organizations, and 10 academic institutions. This report provides a summary of the conversations and input provided during the consultation.
